Unser Park!

„Our Park!“

The film „Our Park!“ is a documentation about citizens occupying the Schlosspark in Stuttgart.

This form of protest against the planned underground trainstation project „Stuttgart 21“ brought homeless people, punks, freelancers and political activists together – they pitched their tents and have been living in the park in every kind of weather for months.

With this form of protest they hope to protect the trees of the park from destruction for the planned project and they are fighting against the arrogance of the people in power . They are living in constant danger of being cleared away by bulldozers and are afraid that they might get sued for illegal occupance of cityproperty. Only a few of them held out for more than 6 months — and how much longer will they prevail? Will the results of the election of the state (Landtagswahlen) in march 2011 influence their motivation and their fight?

(Landtagswahlen) in march 2011 influence their motivation and their fight? Is their protest authentic or pure folklore? This documentary wants to investigate this question through respectfull concern with the subject .
